I love this time of the year, with Thanksgiving and Christmas heading our way. While I enjoy the heat of summer and the balmy days of fall, I also delight in the crisp cool days of winter, returning home with rosy cheeks after a long walk, stomping the snow off my boots, and flopping down in front of a toasty fire.

I know nostalgia isn’t what it used to be, but I can’t help but think back to when I was a kid. We had great family parties over the holiday season. Our house was jam- packed with uncles, aunties, cousins, and family friends.

I remember how the excitement started to build weeks before Christmas. I also remember how the clocks seemed to slow down. If I looked at a clock on the last few days before Christmas Eve, it was as though the second hand barely had the strength to manage its next “tick” or “tock.” Sometimes I worried it was poised to start going backwards.

My teddy bear, Big Ted, always woke me up at about 5:00 a.m. on Christmas Day. I bet my mom and dad were pleased to see us bouncing into their bedroom. We all trooped downstairs to have a nice cup of steaming hot chocolate while we opened our presents.

In many ways, little has changed. These days, however, I’m more excited to see what new technologies Santa will bring. I have a feeling that 2025 is going to be full of surprises. As always, the team here at DENA will delight in bringing you news of the latest and greatest technological offerings.
